This is a journal for Jedah Shade to use as he coaxes his Fenthry out of its feather and has lots of fun adventures with it.

Please don't post here unless Jedah has given you permission!

Sol Cascade
It looks like all the care Sol Cascade has received has done wonders for him. The little fenthry, though still small, has grown quite a bit, considering his original size of just four inches. The gold-colored fenthry now stands at nearly seven inches in height, and he might even begin to display some magical tendencies soon!

Time: The Beginning
How my Fenthry and I came together.
Jedah Shade
It had been a rather quiet day. Well at least for the first part. I had stopped by the Fenthry shop the night before to find out more information on these curious creatures. Coming across Maru and her own child Fenthry, Kaji, I became a little more familiar with the beings and decided on seeing if I could get one of my own. In the early morning, I did my best to make my way back to the shop in a weary daze to find out more about the Fenthry. Spending a large portion of the day in the shop, I saw more and more of the small companions along with their gaurdians as they all interacted with one another. As day turned to night a new set of Fenthry arrived as two people quickly snatched theirs up. With a great deal of luck, there was still one left. A soft, warm and almost glowing yellow and green feather. Having felt reluctant about my abilities to raise such a delicate thing, I gathered all the nerve I had and humbly asked the owner if I could adopt one of my own. Much to my surprise, I was allowed to take care of a Fenthry, though I didn't have much time to celebrate afterwards as I was desperately needed. But now my Fenthry goes wherever I go, attatched securely to a leather necklace. I have no idea what the future holds in store for us, but whatever happens, we'll see it through together.

Having stayed only long enough to gratefully accept his journal and Fenthry, Jedah quickly left the little shop as urgent work beckoned against his will. As he strode down the dimming streets, he held the precious feather gently in his lips while reaching around his neck and pulled a black leather necklace from under his white T shirt. Still running quickly along he tied the feather carefully into the necklace and placed it back under his shirt to keep it extra safe. The small journal that was his now was also tucked away in his vest along with a host of other items which were not as harmless. The night continued on as the kitsune tended to his business of which he would rather keep to himself. In the midst of the cold night, Jedah found himself still in the city as he wearily made his way up the fire escape to a tall apartment complex. It was time again for another rest under the stars, but before he could sleep on the roof of the large building, the fox boy had a seat and opened the journal to splash some thoughts down in the pale moonlight. Putting a gloved hand over his chest to make sure his new companion was still safe, he then reached into his vest to pull out a small pen as the journal rested on his legs. Bringing his other hand a small distance from his face with his palm up, a lick of fire sparked from his leather bound hand and a tiny purplish flame emerged to light his pages.

"Another day quickly passes. Much like the days of the past and probably the ones still to come. However, today did have it's differences. I was fortunate to spend time in a quaint little shop at the request of a good friend. It was there that I came across the peculiar creatures known only as Fenthries. After spending much of the last 48 hours there save for a small time to sleep, I was allowed permission to adopt my own Fenthry due to the good graces of its owner. It is but a feather at the moment, held securely by a leather necklace, but in time it will be free of its inanimate prison and turn into a child. I had seen other Fenthry owners in the shop with their own, and was delighted at the idea of having someone to travel along with me once again. On this night I make a promise to take care of this innocent little creature so that it might lead a happy and healthy life. Though knowing my lifestyle, that may not always be easy. Much of tonight was more hard work, but I did have my Fenthry along with me as inspiration. It would be easy to just turn away and go back home and live in leisure under the care of my own parents. But then I would be disappointing the both of them. I'll keep on going on my own and make my own way, just because that seems to be all I can do anymore. This will probably become a constant rant across the coming pages, but I can't pretend to be anyone else. Well, before a fall asleep writing I should probably get to sleep, or wake up in the morning with ink on my face and drool across my journal pages."

'Now every time that I look at myself: I thought I told you this world is not for you'

After wearily scribbling the last little quote down, the fox type slumped down to the concrete floor into a deep sleep with his journal in his arms as the stars twinkled down on him.

Dragging his feet down a long and lonesome road, the kitsune looks down the narrowly lit path as he felt weariness wash over him. Looking to his left, the fox type spots a lush tree on the side of the road and slowly makes his way over to it as the wind passes over him, making the Fenthry hanging over his chest dance lightly. Almost falling under his own weight, the fox boy has a seat under the tree and pulls his journal out from its resting place in his vest before starting a low flickering flame in his left hand. It was time to recount the day's events before he fell off to sleep

Jedah Shade
"Another day passes almost in the blink of an eye. A fairly quiet day, like many of the rest. Much of it was actually spent organizing this journal so that I might fill more completely with things that seem important. It seemed like all I really did was wander aimlessly, which I can't really seem to escape as it's become all that I'm good at anymore. With the sun's passing I found myself thrust into business as usual, but after getting done with that, it is the last thing I want to think about. I should really look into doing something I enjoy more. At least something less dangerous. Though it's hard to say if anyone would miss me in my own passing. Well, the one who adorn's my necklace actually might. Speaking of my silent companion, I still have yet to name the poor thing. My cub, whom I haven't seen in an age, was called J'. Perhaps J9999. No, sounds too complicated for such a precious creature. Cross, maybe? Denom, or possibly Agar. I should probably keep giving it more thought. This is something my Fenthry will have to live with for the rest of its life. I think we should return to the shop again tomorrow. Maybe there I'll get a sudden insight to what my little companion should be called. Well, my consciousness grows dimmer by the minute, so I shall conclude here. This is the best time of year to be sleeping under the moonlit sky."

'And all along I thought you would be there to let me know, I'm not alone. But in fact that's exactly what I was.'

With the last word down on the page, Jedah is able to keep up long enough to put his journal and pen away while he waved the flame in his hand out.

((supposed to be last night's, but gaia was being a pain))

The scene was becoming all too familiar. The full moon shines overhead as the kitsune traveled, to what most would consider, alone. As weary as any other day, the fox type and his fenthry were just looking for a place to rest for the night though the surrounding area was not all that comfortable. It was quite an arid environment with no real shelter to be found anywhere. Resting lightly against a small rock formation, the fox boy pulled out his journal having promised to himself to make an entry at least once a day. Lighting the small fox fire in his hand, he thinks how he wish he had more time to give to his Fenthry, but the way things were now, it just wasn't possible. Having wanted to stop by the shop again, the day seemed to move by in a blur, hardly being able to recall much that happened. Not wasting anymore time with regret, he got to splashing more of his thoughts onto another page before he lost anymore sleep.

Jedah Shade
"I can barely recall what today is. It seems like all my time is just falling away from me. With the way things are going, I'm barely able to take care of myself, let alone the Fenthry that's counting on me. But what can I do? I guess it's a little naive to just hope things will work out. I'll have to find another way. I suppose I can't just keep doing everything on my own. Tomorrow I'll decide on a plan of action. But right now I can barely string a line of words together. If I'm going to accomplish anything tomorrow I should at least be rested. Something will happen tomorrow."

'Now we grieve cause now is gone. Things were good when we were young.'

Barely able to keep his eyes open, the fox type blinks a few times as he slowly put his journal back in its resting place. After a light yawn, he couldn't fight sleep off anymore as he slumped to the dusty ground, dozing off peacefully.

Foregoing his usual journal entry in the darkness of night, Jedah sit's down and flips open the pages to the book and begins to sketch lightly, as a low purplish light kept his drawing illuminated. Working happily without nearly a care, the image slowly came along with his Fenthry sitting on the opposite page to copy his little companion perfectly. Not feeling as tired as usual, the sketch comes to a close as he smiles down to the portrait of the pair of them. Putting the necklace back over his head, with his Fenthry over his chest, he leaves the journal at one side and crosses his arms over his chest while letting out a slow relaxed breath as he rested there with his friend held close.

Blinking slowly to consciousness, the kitsune frowns just a little with sunlight shining on his face. With a light yawn, he licks his dry lips before his ears flicker, feeling an unfamiliar weight on his chest. The fox type looks down as his dark hair fell over his eyes to see a small off white creature resting peacefully on his chest, half covered by his gloved hand. A slow smile creeps over his face, as he looked down to his newly matured Fenthry deciding to stay still and let his little companion rest. As his eyes close again for a short while, the young boy holds onto a smile to himself thinking to himself, "Sol. Sol Cascade. My Fenthry."

The day had grown grey and windy as Jedah's Fenthry, Sol, clutched tigthly to the edges of his vest. Bringing a gloved hand up, the kitsune half covers his companion from the gusty wind as the two searched for a place to shelter themselves form the rough weather. Finding themselves back in the city, the pair settle onto the concrete steps of an old building, just outside its doorway. The young Fenthry blinks a little looking around curiously, as it wondered where the forceful air had escaped to. His attention quickly breaks away from his curiousity and and bites a little on Jedah's gloved hand which was still shielding him a little. Pulling out the little journal with his free hand, the fox boy starts writing another entry, fearing he'll not have time again as seemed to be the trend lately.

Jedah Shade
"Well, after a little time together, my Fenthry has gone and grown a little on me, literally. The little guy has been perched on my shoulder or head for the past day or so, just traveling along with me and getting into mischief. Sol is pretty a pretty wary creature when encountering new things, but he's quickly starting to adapt, as we travel more and more. I'll say, it was something else to have the poor thing with me while I was off on business, but I made extra sure he was safe at all times. He's quite a fast little guy and hard to keep track of sometimes, but he has yet to leave my person. He likes to mimic things I do that he finds amusing and does try to speak, but mostly just squeeks lightly from time to time. If I can keep him still at some point, I'll have to make sure to get another sketch of the two of us. Well, the weather has taken a break so we should best be off while we have the opportunity."

Closing the journal, Sol quickly looks down to the book before letting his eyes dart around curiously. With the journal tucked away again, the fox type brings a hand up as the Fenthry takes hold of one of his fingers before traveling along again, with their tails swaying behind them.

Having been traveling for days now, Jedah and Sol move slowly along in the very cool night. Rainclouds had formed in the sky blocking out the moon and stars, as a few drops came down but never really rained on the pair. The Fenthry looked like he would nod off at any given moment, but just as he would close his eyes, a raindrop would splash him on the head causing him to jump back to attention and look quickly around for what had disturbed him. The two were nearing the coast now, towards the sea coast and back toward's the kitsune's home. Finding a little clearing in a thicket of wood that lined their muddy path, the fox type sad down under a large old oak to shield out the wind and rain as he brought his journal out of his vest.

Jedah Shade
Things have been a little dreary lately. Life seems to keep moving along at a constant pace, with or without my consent. Though I've not been the most cheerful type in gaia, Sol has been an excellent companion. He seems to sense my mood as good as any other person ever has, if not more so. I make it a point to try and teach the little guy something or another every day, but he seems to learn so much more by just watching what I do on a daily basis. He still struggles hard with language as he can only make different sounding squeeks, but I think he'll start to learn soon enough. I can see how discouraged he gets, wanting to communicate but cannot yet though he never seems to lose that little glimmer of hope in his tiny eyes. We've been traveling a lot more lately, still attending to business by night as we come closer and closer to home. I'm still not sure why we're going there, or what I expect to do once I get there. Perhaps a little visit will do some good. Hopefuly afterwards I'll find something to do with myself. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Putting the journal back where he had gotten it, he looks with half open eyes to Sol who had quickly fallen asleep with the shelter from the stormy night. With his companion clinging lightly to his neck for warmth, Jedah slumps a little onto the tree and rests his head back as his hand came up to cross over his chest and hold the Fenthry a little closer.

Having been traveling a lot for the last couple of days. Jedah and Sol arrive at his parent's home. The kitsune blinks a couple of times in the black night while looking at the double doors to the large building known as Silver Complex. With his head tilted fully back, the Fenthry stares at the large compound as his guardian takes the last few steps to let the pair silently in. As the two make their way down a long, candlelit hallway, Sol looks every which where as he marvels at the huge mansion. After going deep into the heart of his home, the fox type enters a large, dimly lit bedroom and trots over to flop down on an oversided and plush bed. The Fenthry clings onto Jedah as they bounce up and down a little from the bed's softness while the fox boy pulls out his beloved journal. Starting to write under the dim light, Sol quickly leaves his companion's side, running all across the bed as he looked the room over.

Jedah Shade
It has been a long time coming, but I have returned home. It's just like I remember last. No one knows I'm here yet, as far as I can tell. I'll announce my arrival in the morning though. Sol and I have been doing just fine together. Though he's still wary of thing's he's not familiar with, the little guy seems more adventurous by the day. I was actually surprised one day when one of his little squeeks turned into a word. I nearly fell over in disbelief. I'd never seen him so happy as he chirpped it on and on, though I'm pretty sure he doesn't know what it even means. His speed seems to have maxed out for now, which is pretty fast, and he's been trying hard to put those wings of his to use. Though he can't get anywhere with them. But it seems like discouragement isn't part of his vocabulary. I'm very interested to see what he'll try and do next. Well, whatever he gets into, I'll be right here with him to make sure he doesn't bite off more than he can chew.

As the peaceful setting begins to tug at Jedah's consciousness, the young boy starts to slowly nod off. Scampering back to his companion, Sol skips past sleeping on the bed and curls up on his favorite sleeping spot on Jedah's chest.

Having left Sol in the care of his parents for a time, Jedah finally returned to be reunited with his companion. In a large banquet hall, glowing gold with candle light, Sol's head quickly picked up sensing someone was approaching as he quickly left the kitsune's mother's side. Jedah slowly came into the room, as the Fenthry slowly and unsteadily fluttered over to his old friend. With a little smile on his face, the fox boy cupped his hands out, giving Sol a place to land. The Fenthry smiled happily up to him, more than he had seen him do in a long while. Jedah knew it was probably a lot to do with him, as he had his share of problems lately and didn't want to share them all with his little friend. The mature female kitsune, motioned for her son to come join her as the little group had supper together, as the black haired boy told all that had happened lately. A little later the pair were back in Jedah's room again as he flopped down on his bed, taking his journal out which had been rather lonely lately.

Jedah Shade
Things have been really busy lately, and I'm tired out of my mind. Sol and I have finally come back together, after being seperated for a little while. He hasn't stopped smiling all night. Business never really seems to slow down, but it's not that big of a problem. Though there are more things that I need to take care of back up north. A good friend needs my help, and a portion of my time lately has been there. Another reunion happened lately, though he could not return with me, as he was needed more back at the shop. It is about time that Sol and J' meet at long last. I'm sure the two of them will get together fine. It seems that I'm becoming in charge of more and more companions. Its kind of exciting, but I can't lose sight of my goal. These two are counting on me and I don't want to let them down. Well, with Sol fast asleep next to my neck, I suppose that's a good cue that I should be doing the same.

Putting the little book aside, the fox type leaned over just a little to blow out the candle lighting the large room, before lying there for a bit trying to fall asleep. His mind wanders on and on over things before weariness finally begins to overtake him, and the pair are sound asleep.
