Island strolled between the thick trees of the forest, Okeza padding behind her in the soft, feather-light trot of her breed. Streaks of sunlight somehow evaded the trees and shone through the branches, creating dapples of white and yellow on the two beings. The dark-haired girl seemed to be carrying a large sports bag that was heavy and stained. She stopped after a few minutes, content with her location, and dropped the bag from her shoulder with a heavy THUMP.
Okeza halted and sat daintily, at ease with the routine but still no more at home in the forest that Island herself. Thick, tanned hands unzipped the black container, gently taking out what seemed to be strips of raw and smoked meat alike, and laying them on the ground. They were covered in a soft powder, probably ground-up vitamins, and were not heaped together, but strewn about. Some bits of jerky were even placed in the notches of the brown and red tree bark, to make finding food a bit more interesting.
Satisfied with her work, Island hefted the much lighter bag to her shoulder once more, and set off. Okeza glanced once more at the picture frame the trees provided, and turned her back to catch up with her companion..
