This is how you get your Oinari, as a little lotus blossom. The Oinari don't start as flowers, babies are placed inside the blossoms by the mother for safe keeping. All blossoms look alike, unless it is a rare breed of lotus.

When the baby is a little older, you can sometimes catch glimpses of them peeking out of the blossom to see the world around them. Very shy, they'll remain inside their blossom where they feel safest. At this point, they may begin trying to talk, but can only say a few words and usually those are one- to three-syllabyls. Sentences are usually only three or four words.

Once the Oinari reach their child stage, their push open their blossom so they can see everything. They're more inclined to leave their blossom and explore the immediate areas around them. Their speech is better and they can talk fairly well now and are quite talkative. At this point, they may also be testing out their ability to make plants grow, though they're really only able to get seeds to become sprouts, make a few blades of grass, or a few flowers. This takes a lot of energy out of them, so most Oinari children aren't interested in using their ability other than a few tries. They're children, they mostly want to have fun.

Entering that fun adolescent stage, Oinari begin focusing a little more on relationships and honing their abilities for making plants grow. It's still a tiring act, using their abilities, and they're still limited to some degrees. It really depends on how often they train with their power. Some will be more gifted than others. Along with having a greater handle on their abilities, they also begin noticing Oinari of the opposite (or same) gender and building relationships and strong friendships.

As adults, Oinari will sometimes break off into tribes that are formed of friendships and relationships. They may also stay in their parents' tribe, too (but can only be in one tribe at a time). Their control over plant growth is as strong as it will ever be. If they trained a lot as adolescents, they'll be very good, if not..well, then they'll be quite a bit weaker. This is one reason tribes are formed, for protection and to support each other's abilities. At this stage (and only this stage) will Oinari seek mates, usually in their own tribe (though they may join a new tribe to find a mate).
