Adopting Mother's Name: Kira L. Pendell-Kinora
Adopting Father's Name: Trollax J. Kinora
Background info on the adopting Mother: Kira wasn't exactly raised in a loving family. An only child, she had to suffer the burden of being put upon by her parents constantly. They openly hated her, and for no truly apparent reason. Told constantly that she was useless and good for nothing left Kira feeling horrible about herself, hating herself even. She had very few friends when she was younger and spent the majority of her childhood being teased and beaten up, down, left, and right. But, of course, her parents didn't care. She grew up in a cold, heartless enviroment where she was merely scenery to people her age and a slave to her family. She promised herself early on that she would raise any children she would have with the love and affection that she was denied in her own upbringing. When she found out that she wasn't able to bare her own children, it was a devestating blow. Her husband refuses to allow any other woman to have his child, so they're putting all their hopes into this.
Background info on the adopting Father: Trollax was raised in a hostile enviroment. Born Steven, second child, the oddball in the family, Trollax was always harrassed for his behavoir, his ideas. His parents were trying their best to make their children into mini versions of themselves. As usually, when that didn't work, Trollax was constantly discouraged and put down. His ideas ripped apart, his beliefs mocked, his behavoir scolded... He abandoned his family as soon as possible so he could be his own person. Changed his name and dropped out of sight.
Species preferred: Human
Would you accept a child even if it had any handicaps? (ex.-it was blind, deaf, so on..) It would be difficult, but yes.
RP Sample Question:
Your child realizes that he or she really doesn't look much like you and asks about his/her birth parents; how do you react?
"Mom...what were my real parents like?"
The question just came out of nowhere. Kira was more than startled. Symara had never asked that question before, and as she stared up at her little girl, the innocent curiousity shining in her eyes, Kira couldn't help but feel her heart sink. She'd heard that when the curiousity about birth parents comes into play, the children sometimes forget that their adoptive parents are there.
"Why do you ask, sweetie?" Kira questioned, trying to keep her voice steady as she finished buttoning her child's jacket.
"I don't look anything like you or Daddy... I'm just curious, 'tis all," Symara sighed, shuffling her feet as she glanced at the ground.
Kira sighed again, gently scooping her daughter into her arms. She really wished that Trollax wasn't at work. It would be so much better for them to all go over this together. Symara squirmed slightly, making soft protesting noises at being picked up. She was suppose to be going out to play. Just because she'd asked a simple question, that was all changed?
"Mommy, Mommy, put me dooooown! Plaaaaaay! Outside, ya know," Symara whined.
"No, Sy. We have to talk about this," Kira sighed, settling her daughter down on the couch in the living room, stroking Symara's hair lightly. "You're right. You don't look a thing like us. But that doesn't matter. You're still our baby."
"I know, Mommy. I knoooow. Can we go play now?"
"Not yet, hunnie. Your birth mother...she...she was...um...uh...mean," Kira said, rubbing the back of her neck.
"Mean...how?" Symara frowned, blinkin up at Kira. She looked so worried. "If my mommy was mean, does that I will be mean?"
"Oh, oh, no, baby. It doesn't mean that," Kira sighed, gathering Symara up in her arms. "She was moody. She tried your father and I like servants. And whenever we told her we wouldn't do something for her...she threatened to find another family for her baby."
Symara blinked again, "Me...not with you? MEANIE!" Symara screamed, practically throwing herself against Kira, burying her face in her mother's chest. "Symara luff her mommy and daddy. Very much. Very, very, very, very, very, very much. Never talk about mean non-mommy again. NEVER!"
Kira laughed weakly, stroking her daughter's hair lightly, "Ok, sweetheart. I won't. Now, what do you say we go out and play?"
"YAY!"
Symara was off of her lap and over to the door before Kira even blinked. Laughing, she stood and grabbed her own jacket off of the coatrack. Well, at least that was one thing over with. Now, all that was left to deal with was the matter of her birth father. Maybe she'd wait a few years before bringing that up.
