One fine summer I went on a week's visit to my grandmother's farm. I had politely obliged her request for me to come visit her, though I was dreadfully busy at work, and my boyfriend was reluctant to let me leave his side with our baby on the way. Still, I explained to him that family came first and went to see grandma all the same. I hadn't seen her in some time and it was quite nice to see her again, but I admit that things got painfully dull. On the third day, desperate for a distraction and needing to stretch my legs, I set off on a hike up the road.
While traveling, I had seen a dilapidated old abandoned farm not too far south of grandma's own. It had piqued my interest and on a lark I decided to investigate it. The buildings were old, quite old, and the lawns and fields were unkempt and overgrown. The old dirt driveway hadn't seen a car or so much as a wagon in years, and yet it was marked. At first I wanted to dismiss them as deer tracks, but no, they weren't quite deer tracks. More curious still, they led straight up to the closed barn door, and it seemed that the deer (or whatever the creatures were) had reared straight up and opened the door. No, it was impossible. However, wonder forbade me to simply drop the thought, and I cautiously opened the door a crack and glanced inside.
The light was dim and pale inside, came in cascading shafts from boarded up windows and cracks in the walls. At the center of the barn, standing in amongst the old scattered hay, was a pair of fantastic and strange creatures. Each stood no more than four feet in height and was graced with long, spiraling horns. My mind raced to catch up with what my eyes thought they were seeing, and when my mind arrived at a conclusion it almost refused to believe itself. Why, I daresay I thought I was seeing unicorns.
However hard I had tried to conceal myself, I had obviously failed. The animals spied me. What seemed to be the female of the pair gazed upon me with large, dewy blue eyes that were wide open in trepidation. Stepping up in front of her came what must have been the male, who stood tall and firm, protective of his mate and with a bold gaze that said he was ready to charge if necessary. I held up my hands in a gesture of apologetic and unconditional surrender and carefully shifted inside, letting the door shut softly behind me. The male still seemed uncertain, but as the female gave him a reassuring nudge on the shoulder, he seemed to relax. With that, the female stepped forward from behind him. I think there she began to speak, but I was far too busy being awe struck to hear her. Suddenly I noticed that her voice was resonating not through the room but in my very skull. I clasped desperately at my head; this was just too much.
The female, her voice soft and soothing like a morning mist, explained to me how she and her mate had arrived here. She spoke of her people, an intelligent and peaceable lot who lived on the distant planet Myrana far beyond the stars. They had been through; their race enthusiastically developed technology after technology but entirely neglected weapons development. On a grim and fateful day the planet had been swiftly and mercilessly invaded and captured by a widely feared tyrant whose name sounded barely intelligible to me. The people fled en masse, but many were captured or killed on the way out. "Not even a handful managed to successfully escape and land here on your planet," the female concluded. "In fact, the only ones to survive were myself, my mate, and a set of four newborns."
Silently I stood for a moment, struggling to stomach this unbelievable tale. Finally, the last statement she had made registered with my brain, and I choked out in surprise, "Wait? f-four newborns!?"
The female smiled warmly at me, and with a nod she motioned for me to follow her. At the far end of the barn was a line of stalls. She stood at the side of the last one in the row and waited for me there. I peered over the door to see inside and was immediately bewildered. There were not four newborns. There were eight. Even more peculiarly, some of them bore two horns, and not just one. I was about to inquire about it, but the female seemed to instinctively know my question. She looked expectantly at me, and then I realized, not without a touch of embarrassment, that she herself had two horns. As the male came up to join us, I realized with further embarrassment that he bore three horns on his head. I guess my mind had been too busy trying to categorize these animals as something familiar that I had failed to notice even the most obvious of things. I gulped, then threw another, somewhat better question into the open than the one I had left unspoken. "You said that only four newborns escaped, but there are eight here. Where did the other four come from?"
The female shook her head wearily, and the male simply lowered his head. "We're not sure," the female said reluctantly. "They were here when we arrived. It's almost like... like they were waiting for us here. They were so small and helpless; we had no choice but to take them in as well." She stared up at me anxiously. She looked worn out and I didn't blame her. Caring for eight wailing babies had to be hectic. I resolved to aid her, but that was still eight infants between three adults, and even if I was able to convince my boyfriend to help, that made it two apiece. The fact that my own child was just waiting to be delivered didn't help matters much. Besides, with work and all it was going to be hard enough to just take care of my own. Still, I couldn't just stand aside and not help these noble creatures.
An idea struck, quite suddenly, and almost left me reeling. Eagerly I addressed the pair. "Your people? what are you called?"
"Monoceros," responded the male, "We are called Monoceros." His voice echoed in my head much like the female?s had.
I smiled and nodded curiously. "Don't worry, help is on the way." It was time, I decided, to appoint the help of the Gaian Community.

Race Specifics: Since they are unicorn based all of the Monoceros have the ability to heal by horn touch and purify water and air. Babies show no magical abilites but by childhood, they start to show minute elemental powers. They will only have elemental powers. They are predetermined, meaning. I already picked them but you will pick up on what the power is by the horn color.
Red- Fire
White- Air
Dark Blue- Water
Green- Earth
Yellow - Electricity
Olive - Death [Zombies only can get this power]
Newborn:
Newborns tend to be cranky, easily irrated, but not all. Some can very quiet. [Depends on your RP] They have gray horns and like to drink milk. They have no elemental powers yet as they are too young. The two horned are from outer space and the single horned are from earth but we're not sure where they came from. Shaggy short hair are males and wavey long hair are females.
Time Between Newborn and Child-
Depends on your RP see the bottom of this post.
Child:
Children are able to speak, walk and eat soilds. [If you taught them to] Their horns start changing from gray to the color of the elemental power. The shaggy vs wavey hair still determines the gender.

Teenager:
Teenagers, woe to the people who have teenagers. They tend to be well, teenagers. Angsty, angry, some start flirting with the opposite sex. By now they can talk and walk. They have very pronounced likes and dislikes. Their horns have now changed to the color of the power they will have. They still do not have the power but you will notice that a green horned Monoceros will be able to help things grow.
Time between Teen and Adult-
Depends on your RP see the bottom of this post.
Adult:
Adults, now your Monoceros can breed. It will grow older but they do not die. Females tend to be more relaxed or laid back where as males tend to be more agressive or playful. All by now have found their power [through RP training, if no RP you will be given a weak power] and are fully capable of using it.

Hello! I'm Auron most of you know me as Rain's Monoceros. Well, with the power over sensual things, I am going to be the breeder. First, I need you to look over the rules that are written in book on the table. :points to the book which is open to rules.:
Rules:
1. Any gender can breed with any other gender. [M/F, M/M, F/F Couplings welcome]
2. Common and Uncommon can breed together easily. Rares can only breed with Rares. [Check the front page]
3. Zombies can not breed. Getting bitten with turn a non-zombie into a zombie.
4. Breeding produces 1-3 offspring. 1 is very common, 2 is uncommon and 3 is rare. [See pricing guide]
5. There are only 3 breeding stalls open at a time.
6. Only ADULTS can breed.
7. Monoceros do not nessarily breed for life though they can. [Owner's choice]
8. After breeding once a 'Pregnant' Monocero [usually female] cannot breed for another month.
9. Elemental powers are a male based gene. Meaning, babies aquire their powers from the father.

Regular Breeding [M/F] 3K from both owners. Or 6K from one owner and the consent of another owner

A quick guide to the wonderful world of Monoceros Familiars!
Familiars are found inside what some would call everyday things. Though, they are found inside fruits of all kinds. There are seventeen known varities of familiar. Some of them are more common than others. All familiars have three stages. The first stage is the flower/fruit stage depending on the fruit. The second stage is a fruit/visable stage. You can now see the small pony shaped creature inside the fruit. After awhile the fruit will then break open in either a neat or messy way and the small pegaus will come out. Compared to the Monoceros a familiar is quite small. A familiar will eventually be used in the battle system when we can get all the kinks out of the system.
Here's the growth of a Star Fruit Familiar:

Charm: Enemy believes the target is his friend. Refuses to attack the target and will attack those who attack the charmer. Last 3 turns.
Confuse: Confuses enemy and causes a 75% chance of failure to hit target. Lasts for 2 turns.
Cure: Heals 15 H.P.
Frog: Changes enemy into a frog. Frogs cannot attack. Lasts 3 turns unless cured.
Half - Health: Reduces H.P. by Half (1/2)
Half - Mana: Reduces M.P. by Half (1/2)
Knock Out: Instantly does X damage (where as X equals the amount of H.P. the enemy has)
Mini: Reduces all stats to half.
Perfect Sunshine: 50% chance of water based attacks failing. 3 damage to zombies per turn.
Petrify: Unable to move or use magic for 2 turns.
Poison: Does 15 damage intially then 3 damage per turn until cured, K.O. or battle's end.
Silence: Cannot use Magic or Familiar for 3 turns.
Sleep: Enemy falls asleep for 3 turns. (Cannot do anything while asleep)
Zombie: Turns enemy temporarily into a zombie. Lasts 4 turns.
