I'd start an Rp topic, but I don't know how to start it off... sweatdrop

more likely, with what do I start it off with?
and plus, there's not that many pepes part of the guild... stare

Miakou
This is scary:
Quote:
Some examples of why the human race has probably evolved as far as possible. These are actual instruction labels on consumer goods...

On Sears hairdryer:
Do not use while sleeping.
(Gee, that's the only time I have to work on my hair!)

On a bag of Fritos:
You could be a winner! No purchase necessary. Details inside.
(The shoplifter special!)

On a bar of Dial soap:
Directions: Use like regular soap.
(and that would be how?)

On some Swann frozen dinners:
Serving suggestion: Defrost.
(But it's 'just' a suggestion!)

On Tesco's Tiramisu dessert: (printed on bottom of the box)
Do not turn upside down.
(Too late! you lose!)

On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding:
Product will be hot after heating.
(Are you sure? Let's experiment.)

On packaging for a Rowenta iron:
Do not iron clothes on body.
(But wouldn't that save more time?)(Whose body?)

On Boot's Children's cough medicine:
Do not drive car or operate machinery.
(We could do a lot to reduce the construction accidents if we just kept those 5 year olds off those fork lifts.)

On Nytol sleep aid:
Warning: may cause drowsiness.
(One would hope!)

On a Korean kitchen knife:
Warning: keep out of children.
(hmm...something must have gotten lost in the translation...)

On a string of Christmas lights:
For indoor or outdoor use only.
(As opposed to use in outer space?)

On a food processor:
Not to be used for the other use.
(Now I'm curious.)

On Sainsbury's peanuts:
Warning: contains nuts.
(but no peas?)

On an American Airlines packet of nuts:
Instructions: open packet, eat nuts.
(somebody got paid big bucks to write this one...)

On a Swedish chainsaw:
Do not attempt to stop chain with your hands.
(Raise your hand if you've tried this...)

On a child's Superman costume:
Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly.
(Oh go ahead! That's right, destroy a universal childhood belief.)

I was rolling on the floor, tears streaming down my face after I first read this.
Currently laughing my head off and copying it into an email to send to lots of people.

Pretty much anything. I'm trying to recruit more people, but you can advertise too if you want.

Starting in a tavern is a standard one, it depends what sort of rp thread you want. Pretty much any kind of rp is permitted in this guild - except god-moding and cybering, of course.

Transfer of out-of-character conversation. Just trying to keep things organized.

My friend found this in someone's LJ.

Quote:

Dear Mr. Bush:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I
have learned a great deal from you and understand why you would propose
and support a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage. As you
said "in the eyes of God marriage is based between a man a woman." I try
to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries
to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them
that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination... End of
debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements
of God's Laws and how to follow them.

1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and
female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend
of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you
clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in
Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair
price for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her
period of menstrual uncleanness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I
tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a
pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They
claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2.
clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill
him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an
abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality.
I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?

7. Lev.21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a
defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my
vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair
around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.
19:27. How should they die?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me
unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 9:19 by planting two different
crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of
two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to
curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the
trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev. 24:10-16.
Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we
do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev.20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy
considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help.

Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and
unchanging.

Makes you wonder, doesn't it? We'd ALL be dead according to the Old Testament. Aren't you glad we aren't ruled by that anymore?

sugar_crazy_Fox
very glad we don't have it.
then again, it probably would't apply to me.
I'm not religious. I celebrate holidays for fun/presents though.

Miakou
I could really care less too. I'm an atheist. No belief, whatsoever in the hereafter, or other stuff. My parents think I'm mentally ill, as they're both christians.

Windstar
Semi-atheist - but MIakou, realistically, ti probably wouldn't be a conversation to come up in Lienae. Would you mind if I moved it to the OOC thread?

Miakou
Sure. Sorry, I'm kinda used to my other guild. Anything goes, outside of the RP. sweatdrop

sugar_crazy_Fox
well I'm not in any other guilds so it doesn't really matter...
Whew! That took some doing! I'd like to remind people to keep their new topics as roleplay ones so I don't have to do this again...That's kinda why I made this thread and stickified it, to keep things from getting to cluttered. Sorry, I get a bit weird about organizing info.

DUDE!! ^_^ I just thought of an awesome idea.

Guild fundraising whee
if we do fundraising, we can do activities like, best roleplayer of the month and give them a prize.
plus, having the money is a good idea. so, should I make a topic, where people can talk about fundraising for the guild for later on, or is it not nessessary? sweatdrop

Good idea...exceppt the guilds aren't allowed to do so yet, and won't be until we can access guild funds. I get the idea that at that time there will start being special bulk prices for items, so that guilds can get things for all their members etc. That's the main reason for the entry fees.

Yeah, I know. That's what the donations thing is for too. I wish I knew when we'd be allowed to use it...

Sure! I've been working on one for the guild home page, but it'll probably be too big for a link banner.
