Ok, well, when I first started thinking about doing something like this, I thought it would take a ton of time, and a ton of different programming stuff to learn. Turns out, I was right.
I've heard from many people who I know, who are doing these types of projects or have completed them, that it is a long and complicated process, if you're looking to create the entire thing from scratch, which was what I was planning on doing originally. I was told that Assembly Language and Hexadecimal programming was needed, plus things like a debug mode, different programs, and game engines were needed. I also needed sprites, backgrounds, sounds, etc and all of this just seems like a big jumbled up mess so I'll separate it into a bunch of questions;
1) What in Gods name is ASM, Assembly Language, and why do I need it to program an SNES game? I know what it is, but as far as how to use it, what it does exactly and how to write it are still a mystery to me.
2) Hexadecimal? What is it used for, how would I write it?
3) What programs would be used to endevour on a project such as this?
4) Can anyone take me step by step into how the different codes are used for? So far Google has only provided some good tutorials, but they are only those that know how to use the different codes.
5) How would I go about copying or using a game engine? Or even create my own?
6) Anyone do something like this?
7) Anyone wanna join and help with this?
Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
