The planet of Manaan is completely covered in one vast ocean, featuring only one floating settlement, Ahto City. The planet's native population, the Selkath, are amphibious, and do not require land or air to live, so Ahto City's main purpose is to facilitate business between the Selkath government and various offworld interests for Manaan's unique export, Kolto. Kolto is an all important medicinal liquid which has all but replaced other forms of medication. Its versatile and ease of use allows it to cure nearly all injuries and illness. This has allowed Manaan to establish itself as an important economic power in the Republic, particularly during and after the Mandalorian and Jedi Civil Wars.
