OK. So are you? You know, making your gifts this year? If so what? And please post a pic if you can. cat_xd
As for me... I have in the past, but I'm taking off this year. cat_ninja

I'm doing (sort of) handmade soap, (actual) handmade lotion bars/tins, and baked goods. The soap is only kind of handmade because it's melt and pour, lol. And baked goods because I'm too broke to afford anything else. I have some knitted scarves and crocheted dishcloths to give people too though that I did earlier in the year, so that's cool.

One of my friends at work has specifically asked me to make doggie booties for her dog. I'm trying to decide if doing them with crochet or knitting them would be the best, since they will be so small. (He's the cutest little thing - a chiweenie - chihuahua/dachund, and he's smaller than my cat!)
This will be the perfect opportunity to use my new 4" double pointed knitting needle sets, if I knit them in the round...

That's sounds really cool. I've never received any homemade soap or lotions. Is it hard to make? I think everyone is broke. lol. I know we are. My family has already mentioned interest in the idea of giving gifts to the kids this Christmas and the adults won't have to buy anything for anyone else. Sounds good to me.

She loves him I think more than anyone else. lol. That should be quite interesting with their tiny feet. Will they have Velcro or something to tighten them?

Melt and pour soap is super easy. You cut it into chunks, melt it, add color and scent, and pour it into a mold. Lotion tins are just as easy. You combine equal parts beexwax, a butter such as shea or cocoa, and a carrier oil such as almond or jojoba. Heat until melted, add scent, and then pour into molds/tins. It cools enough to use within half an hour or so. Everyone loved the lotion tins last time I made them, so I figured why not again this year?

That way, at least they know I slaved away in a kitchen for them. lol.

I was thinking tiny drawstring bags would work. I'll work some up for her to try, and see how she/he like them.

I got 3 sets of 4 needles each (one size 3, one size 4, and one size 6). They are for doing small things in the round, like mitten finger/thumbs, and would be perfect for this. Plus, the booties are so small they should take pretty much no time at all to whip up. Gus is the tiniest, cutest thing - and think's he big & tough! My littlest cat is actually bigger than he is, and she's tiny, and only weighs 4 lbs.

The only problem I've got is what yarn to use - don't want to use anything that will get too wet, but don't want to use anything too rough either. I've got some that's made to use for plastic canvas needlepoint, so it should be pretty waterproof - I'm going to try using that first.

She's a tiny thing, I'd put her at the same weight as their dog (four to five pounds) but she's so much bigger! She's really long and really tall, but really skinny. She's not underweight, just naturally very thin. She towers over Pup Pup!

We named him Lorenzo Barkaweenie. lol.
