I'm not all that excited anymore. Actully I'm really vexed. No elements I can think of seem to be the right ones for Lukes Catalyst. Since I'm at my wits ends trying things I've decided just to do a bunch of random tests in the hopes of finding something that will work! Random Attempts 1) Created snow and packed Luke into it.-loved 2) Blew bubbles onto Luke.-hated 3) Rubbed Luke with warm oil and silk.-did not care much 4) Brushed Luke with a feather.-liked 5) Laid out on the grass.-loved 6) Hid Luke inside a glass box.-did not care much 7) Reflected colored light onto Luke off a crystal.-liked cool Kissed Luke.-did not care much 9) Swam in a lake.-did not care much ________________________________________________________________ Summer! It's time for fun and excitement! I'm gunna take Luke on some little summer time adventures and see how he likes these things! Week of Summer Fun Test 1) Flying a kite (With Luke tied to it) did not care much 2) Watching a Thunder and Lightening Storm! did not care much 3) Water Balloon Fight with the kids! liked 4) Horseback rideing through the hills. loved 5) Dropped ice cubes down random folks backs. did not care much 6) Picked Wildflowers. did not care much 7) Lounged under the sun reading a book. loved __________________________________________________ Okay, most of that was -not- fun. I did not care at all for the trip to the dungeon, and having Luke laugh at me down there wasn't pleasent at all. I don't care if it's my own dungeon! It's creepy! As it is, we didn't find any kind of catalyst in our last attempt, so we're going to try something else. Perhaps it has something to do with a combination? I'm not sure. So...we'll try mixing up some of the things Luke loved and see if that helps? Mixing Loves Test 1) At sunset dipped Luke into a Stream-didn't care much 2) At Sunset went exploring a cave-liked 3) At sunset laid Luke on a large Amethyst-didn't care much 4) Dipped Luke into a stream in a cave-didn't care much 5) Placed a large amethyst stone in a stream and then set Luke on top of it- the stone seemed to grow warm the closer it was to the water, it seemed to pulse6) Placed Luke on a large amethyst stone in a cave-liked 7) At sunset placed Luke on a large amethyst stone in a stream-liked 8 ) At sunset placed luke on a large amethyst stone in a cave-didn't care much 9) At sunset placed luke on a large amethyst stone in a stream thats in a cave-Luke also grew warm and glowed much stronger than before, the pulsing was quick _________________________________________________What a challenge! Luke seems to be enjoying this as much as I am, which is surpriseing really! We'll figure out what is needed to bring him out...maybe a little more research is needed about his backgrounds? Yes, thats what I'll do...look up some things about his source and try some minor tests again! Exploreing Lukeness Test 1) Placed Luke under a pillow-liked 2) Meditated with Luke on sea salt-hated 3) Crept around the scary section of the dungeons (LC is afraid of the dark)-liked 4) Laid Luke on a large amethyst stone- being near the other stone made Luke grow warm ______________________________________________Well! It seems that one of the four basic elements is not a catalyst for Luke! That honestly was surprising to me! I figure, he either needs a more specific nature type exposure...or he's just going to be terribly difficult! Either way. I've figured trial and error is probably best. After all, thats how I found my darling Fiona's element! I've decided to take Luke to a few different places and see how he reacts to them. A Weeks Activities 1) Snorkling in the sea around the island.-liked 2) Spelunking in one of the small underground caves.- enjoyed being in the cave, hey is that an underground spring?3) Tinkering with a crystal to imbue it with magical properties-didn't care much 4) Watching for shooting stars at night.-didn't care much 5) Making little rainbows with a water hose in the garden-didn't care much __________________________________________________The past week or so has been very exhausting and I've decided to spend a little time relaxing about! My magical energy is too low for me to do anything spectaculat with Luke, so I'm going to have to rely on mundane means. Last time with Fiona I was missing a element for her catalyst, so I've decided to check out the elements with Luke and see if one of those will be needed for his catalyst. Element's 1) Laid Luke on some ice in the freezer. -hated 2) Lightly buried Luke in some soil in the garden. -liked 3) Dangled Luke near a candle flame. -hated 4) Dipped Luke into a stream. - loved ________________________________________________Since Fiona has emerged, I've decided to spend a little more time with Luke. Fiona is more independant then I like, but Luke needs me right now. The first thing I did was back track my steps with Fiona. I decided to start with the time of Day that Luke liked better, to get a better idea of when he'll be more active. Time of Day Preference Time of Day Preference wrote: 1)Sunrise - liked 2)mid morning - didn't care much 3)afternoon - hated 4)evening - didn't care much 5)sunset - loved 6)moonrise - liked 7)midnight - liked

Lord Changeling had just awoken from a extended nap. He had pushed himself beyond his limits in his attempt to waken Fiona and find the correct catalyst for her. Obviously his eagerness had led him to folly, for he had not found the catalyst at all and had, in fact, exhausted himself.
He had spent three days sleeping, recovering from the strain on his fragil mystical spirit. When he woke, his first instinct was to rise and check on Fiona. Ever since he had gotten her he had been like a mother hen, always hovering over her to ensure she was safe. Not that there were many dangers in his castle against her...
Or so he had believed until he had found her little gold and glass bed empty. For a moment the over sized pixy looking man stared with disbelieving eyes at the empty bed. Then, with a shrill cry that echoed through the entire castle, he ripped the doors open to hs room, and ran down to the study he had last known to have Fiona.
Believeing fully he had accidently left the unprotected stone out amidt the other gemstones, his panic only grew further when he found all the gemstones that had been on the small circular table missing. Crying out Fiona's name in a choked voice, he dropped to his knees and began to crawl across the floor.
Searching the room he looked under the meager carpet, the furniture, and even under some things that the stone honestly could not have gotten under. Riseing, he bolted again from the study, and made his way down to the garden.
In a corner of the garden was a small rock pile. He had had it created for Lapiz, the small purple dragon that was his ward. Dropping to his knees,he reached an arm down into one of the larger holes and began to feel about. He felt nothing but hard stone and some dried leaves. Pulling his hand out, he reached into another hole, and again felt nothing. Checking a third, then a fourth, his fingers finally touched something small and smooth. Grabbing at the items that were shifted by his fingers, Lord Changeling began to empty out the small hoard the tiny dragon had begun to collect.
The gemstones that he had used to test Fiona were the first things he pulled out, and his heart lept with hope. If Lapiz had taken Fiona, the worst she'd have had to deal with was a scaley thing nuzzleing her. As he pulled out silk dinner napkins, some missing silver cutlry, a few candlesticks that had gone missing, and some of Torra's earrings, his heart began to sink further. Tossing the items to the ground beside him, he began to whimper*"What are you doing?"Came a small voice behind him. Turning around, LC spied Eclipse...holding Fiona in his arms! Making a small choking noice, he lunged at the Dark Tomyu...who dropped Fiona to the grass and vanished in a puff of darkness. LC hardly cared though. Snatching Fiona up he held her to his rapidly pounding heart. Gods! He had been afraid that he had misplaced her! But he hadn't! He knew later he'd have to ask Eclipse what the heck he thought he'd been doing...but first he needed to calm down.
With one hand still clutching Fiona, LC began to put the...borrowed...items back into Lapiz's miniture hoard. He didn't begrudge the little dragon the small items he took from the house for his hoard. All his other wards had things in their rooms after all. As he scooped the minor assortment of gems though..a small purple pebble like stone..winked at him. It took LC a moment to register the light that had come from it..and he still needed a moment to realize it. Picking up the small purple pebble, he held it in the same hand as Fiona. Fiona was much larger then the purple pebble..but..it was glowing! A soft purple light*
Oh...dear...

Research Note 1 Charoite is said to enhance self-esteem, accelerate spiritual growth, and improve the ability to love. Since this is a recent discovery (197 cool , there are no known legends surrounding this stone. Research Note 2 Charoite is found in only one part of the world: the Chara River area of Siberia. This part of Russia is known for its forbidding climate and terrain and as a traditional place of exile for political prisoners. There is a deep appropriateness to charoite's origins, for it deals with an internal exile, that of fear. When we're afraid we separate ourselves from a full appreciation of life, from the complete expression of our creativity. Most of all, we prevent ourselves from realizing all that we are spiritual beings. Charoite's appearance also tells us about its gifts to us. It is a purple stone with black and white patterns. Purple is a sixth-chakra color, and the sixth chakra is where many of our limiting mental programs, including our fears, are stored. The color purple, among its other roles, helps to bring us closer to spirit by showing us that everything, even the thoughts we hold as true, can be dissolved and replaced with more empowering energies. The color black in this stone grounds the purple ray and enables us to explore the nature of our fears; while white represents the connection to spirit. It has been said that if we are not completely manifesting our potential as human beings, fear is in some way stopping us. Look for those areas in which you feel limited, and you will find a fear that blocks you. Charoite helps to bring these fears to the surface. It makes this process easier by also giving you a boost of courage and commitment to dissolve fear patterns. if you choose to meditate with this stone, you may find your deepest insights through allowing time afterwards to contemplate what you've learned. Another way to work with charoite is to put it beneath your pillow, especially if you are prone to disturbed sleep or fears which surface in dreams. In combination with amethyst, it will help to release these fears. Research Note 3 Healing ability: Put charoite beneath your pillow, especially if you are prone to disturbed sleep or fears which surface in dreams. In combination with amethyst, it will help to release these fears. Mystical power: Mystical power: Charoite is said to be useful for the cleansing and purification of one's energy body as well as for the transmutation of negative energies within oneself. Charoite transmutes negativity and cleanses the aura. Charoite facilitates the release of fear and dissolution of negative energies encountered in the process of aligning with your soul's purpose. Work with Charoite to foster a synthesis between the heart and crown chakra, walk your spiritual path with awareness, and manifest your soul's wisdom and light in daily life. The purple color of Charoite, among its other roles, helps to bring us closer to spirit by showing us that everything, even the thoughts we hold as true, can be dissolved and replaced with more empowering energies. The color black in this stone grounds the purple ray, and enables us to explore the nature of our fears; while white represents the connection to spirit. Research Note 4 Charoite is called a "Stone of Transformation" and is a stone of power. In particular it transforms negative emotions such as anger and fear into positive feelings. As part of the transformation process it allows release of those negative emotions. Charoite is also a stone of inspiration, bringing enhanced creativity, spiritual growth, and showing new possibilities even in old situations. This is a stone that allows us to see clearly which brings with it enhanced self-esteem and helps release one from victimization. Charoite can enhance or bring courage, inner strength, and appropriate assertiveness. In the psychic realm, chaorite is used for entity release or rescue work, clairvoyance, and prophesy. Physically, chaorite is helpful for speeding up healing of all kinds, headaches, liver problems, alcohol detoxification, cramps, heart problems, eye problems, and nerves. Research Note 5 Charoite was not named for the Chara River as was first thought, but instead was named for the impression that it gives: "chary" in Russian means "charms" or "magic".

LC had not had a good nights rest. He had kept waking up due to Fiona's fear of the dark. So come morning, he groaned when he realized that his work with reliquients was not complete. Luke! How horrid he felt for neglecting the pebble like stone!
Today he had decided to make up for it though. Leaving Fiona with promise's of shopping and room decorating, he had taken to carrying Luke around with him. Now..carrying Luke posed a problem for LC. Luke was so small he was kind of afraid of loseing him! The answer to his dilemma came from Na'Torra of all places!
After hearing LC mumbleing tohimself, explaining his fear to Luke, the lavender haired girl swept herself off to her room, and came back with one of her necklaces. It was..kinda girly..but it proved to be exactly what LC needed!
The necklace itself hung from a silver chain. A heart made out of wires formed a sort of cage, and inside, up till now, a small herkimer diamond had rattled about. Well, with a little bit of prying, the wires of the silver heart parted enough to slip the diamond out, and Luke in! Closeing the wires again, LC happily found a way to keep Luke close to him, yet out in the open so the little fellow could expirence things as LC went about his day.
Of course...if Luke had any protest he had no real way of making it known quite yet...

Being sick had given LC some private time alone with Luke. The entier time he was in bed, he had books open and spread all around him. He really needed tog et his homework done..but he was simply too caught up in learning about Luke to care!
He had learned many interesting facts about the stone Luke was, and he eagerly shared them with the tiny pebble of a stone. The information LC dug up gave him bright hopes for the little ones future. Even though his eyes shone with a mild springtime fever, they also shone with something else. Excitement! LC simply could not wait till he was better so he could continue his conduction of tests on the little pebble, and he could not wait till he could introduce him properly to his bog sister...perhaps he would have a positive impact on her wild spirit...

As of late, LC had been quite busy. Though he did not spend as much doting and adoring time with Luke as he had with Fiona..he did spend a considerable amount of time more. It was due simply to the heart shaped necklace he was wearing. It was so easy to take Luke with him everywhere in it! He didn't worry at all about loseing Luke!
He took Luke to school with him, where they attended classes together. Luke was present as LC rehearsedhis lines on stage, present as LC sweated over math class and attempted to make sense of all the equations that he could see no connection to the real world. He was with him as LC went to work at the Dream shop. That part had to be the most enjoyable event out of them all! Puttering around the shop writing down names and keeping records of the dreams that came and went. Keeping track of the new types of Dreams and recordig Whym's findings in nowhere. LC did not often talk to Luke while he did this, but kept him as a silent observer as he went to work and school...though he was certain that Luke was paying sharp attention to what was happening.
He didn't have quite the same connection with Luke that he had with Fiona, and LC could only compare the two stones constantly. Luke had less of a emotional bond with him then Fiona, hardly as strong or..maybe clingy? And Luke didn't seem to respond badly to any given situation. he seemed quite..complacent? He lacked the eager excitement and energy that Fiona had often fed him. Luke had not yet choosen to give him a response to which time of the day he preffered..so it made him wonder if maybe Luke was the sort to think before responding, rather then merely reacting instantly on his first impression. That was good actually..it really encouraged LC to carry Luke around with him more.

Same old same old...woke up, showered, slipped Luke around his neck and off LC went. He had spent the entier weekend at college, which he was none too pleased over, and very little time in his shop. He fully intedned on slacking off at achool to make up for the work he missed at the shop.
Today LC spent a little time with Fiona, getting her aquainted with luke..though she didn't appear to have much interest in a stone that couldn't help her figure out her Yoga book...though LC figured that Luke thought she was interesting...or at the very least odd.
