Each week brought her more opportunities to get out and drain, what at first was a pain was starting to become a routine for her. Every few nights she would go out to the alleys and drain a few of the passed out drunkards, pilfering their pockets for money so she wouldn’t have to pick up shifts for work. The faster she got this done with, the faster she could strengthen her magic. There was a war or something going on but that was just background to her, not something she really put much thought into. No, her goals were selfish, she wanted to put on her own show. It felt good to have something to look forward to even if she was still learning all the stuff that lead up to that.

He methods were crude to say the least, much like a vulture picking on the carcasses left beside the road at night. She knew she could at least escape or somewhat fight if she came into contact with someone else but she had been playing things safe lately. That is, until she started getting a bit ballsier and following people who had concert tickets she wanted. She wouldn’t wait for them to pass out, she would use her magic when she could to engulf them in fog so she could focus and drain them before collecting her real prize.

Tonight was one of those nights, as she carefully followed her mark from one of the late night bars in town. It was closer to the university than she liked but she really couldn’t afford these tickets otherwise and she knew the person got them from their insta post. They posted all the time so it made it easier for her to keep tabs on him. Even now she watched as he took his phone out to take a selfie in front of one of the signs. It made her a bit sick that they were so full of themselves. If she knew better she would have been able to sense that she wasn’t the only one out and draining in the area.

Using the fog as cover, she drained the influencer almost dry. They slumped down to the ground and she started searching his coat pockets, cursing as her prize wasn’t on him. She dragged him towards the dumpster and laid him in the pile of garbage that was accumulating next to the large metal box. Kicking him for good measure she stepped back out of the fog, noticing for the first time tonight she was being watched. “******** me…” She quickly ran for cover in the shadow of the building they were standing on top of, cursing a bit more knowing she couldn’t easily make her way up there. Getting a closer look would be ideal since she wasn’t sure exactly what side they were on from up there.

The fog had dissipated at this point revealing the slumped husk of a man in the grabage so if they were in fact order there would be hell to pay if she wasn’t prepared. She had two more shots of magic this time to help get out of this situation so she started to think of a plan as she tied some of her hair together to keep it out of the way.

As he got closer she didn’t even wait for him to speak before she used her magic again. He was close enough just long enough for that icy cold hand to swipe out at him. She followed up with a kick before what he said really got to her. They weren’t order but they didn’t have the same long hair she had seen on every other corrupt senshi she had met so far. “s**t man like I don’t know who you are but I really need you to not crash my vibe. I’m trying to find some concert tickets and this dude is scum anyway.” The fog still flowed around her with the ever present figure that she called her monster lurking within. Staying at the ready for whatever happened next, she listened to see if she hadn’t pissed off someone who could have potentially helped her with her goals tonight.

“It’s the thing that lurks beyond the grave man, one day it’ll be all there and maybe I can finally see what it looks like.” She spoke about her magic like it was it’s own person and in truth that’s how she felt about it. It grabbed at things on its own without her telling it what to do so it had to be thinking of some sort and the fog had to be her connection to bring it forth. Getting stronger was the only way she saw forward to bring her monster into this world even more.

“He woulda been fine, trash day isn’t for like 5 days and he woulda woken up and stumbled out of there or one of his fans would have looked for him cuz it’s not like he didn’t just take a picture of his dumb face in front of that bar behind us. One of his fangirls would hop on a high horse if they saved his a**.” Frustration seeped through her young sounding voice she really was cutting it close to see this rock show she wanted. That scummy man had no place being at the concert, he didn’t understand the meaning behind the music or even really know the band. They were all sellouts just trying to fill seats.

“He freaking took a photo with them two hours ago they haveeeee to be somewhere!” With two stamps of her foot, the fog faded. Not that she could make it disappear but rather she knew how long she had that it would work. Her small frame stood as menacingly as she could manage as she looked up at the other. They at least looked kinda ok in terms of aesthetics, kinda had a killer queen vibe she could get behind but that wasn’t the point.

She groaned and started pulling the dude out of the trash, flopping him down on the ground like a dead fish. The other senshi was right in a way, her method was luck based and not everyone was stupid enough to walk around with hundred dollar tickets just on them until it was the night of the event. “What are your opinions on kidnapping Killer Queen?” She didn’t know his name yet and knew that it probably wouldn’t come up yet given how she had literally just attacked him. Slapping the drained man a few times left some incoherent grumbles and groans. “If you can make him talk that would be hella metal. I found his keys if not and we can play the click the button and find the beep game. Otherwise I think I have a few marks listed on my insta that we can track down. I have like two days to get one of these tickets and I really can’t miss this show.”

She held up the guy’s keys and clicked them, listening for the telltale beep of a car being locked. Unfortunately she heard nothing from the area around and decided to whip out her shattered and cracked android phone to look online for clues. There were two other guys in this dude’s posse that had tickets so they had to be at a bar nearby.

Beatrix smiled a bit as they got the guy up, she slipped the keys carefully out through the bottom her top and down through one of the holes in her skirt. Offering them to the guy. “Yea you dropped these too so we can help ya get back and you can rest until you feel good enough to drive. Muggers these days suck total a**.” She almost laughed a bit at how this was turning.

After being helped up and starting to make their way out of the alley as a group, the guy leaned his head on Liam’s shoulder and whispered. “To be honest I prefer guys like you~ Girls are just better for the gram yanno? Just an aesthetic thing is all.” He clicked his keys as they made their way down the alley back to the main road, finally hearing the beep of his car. He didn’t mind leaning on this tall dark and handsome mister as they made their way, and it was very apparent on his face that he’d rather go home with them tonight.

Bea hadn’t heard exactly what had been said, the face that he made was pricelessly sleazy. With the sound of the beep she rushed along, she knew her magic only lasted a little bit and wasn’t sure how long the other senshi’ s did so she motioned for them to throw him in the car once they got close enough to see its blinking tail lights.

The dude nodded and laid back in the seat blowing a kiss back at Melpomene. “See ya then~” He felt all cozy and thought of how nice they both were for helping him. That blonde guy really had a heart to hear with him, he might take that advice after his tour.

Beatrix tossed his hoodie over him and then the keys before shutting the door. Thoroughly grossed out. “That’s some kinda weird juju love beam you got goin on there, Melp? Yea Melp Melp I like that. Name’s Beatrix but you can call me Bea.” She took his hand with a wink. “Thanks a bunch for the help, you can have these two other tickets I only need the one. Not sure if it’s something you’d vibe with but eh you can sell em as a scalper for a few hundo if you know how to. But I gotta run now, if you ever wanna chill again just look for me and my monster in the fog~” With that, she booked it down the alley to somewhere she could power down and make it to her late night shift at the 7/11.
