The Gargoyles (1) : Even when you thought you’d seen the last of them, it seems like you’re never really in the clear. A while back, there was an infestation of awful gargoyle creatures–and while every Star Festival had its fair share of oddities, this one seems to have introduced a permanent infestation upon the city. Maybe you see them perched on the roof, or hiding in the shadows, but not all of these grotesque creatures are satisfied with just escaping their interdimensional prison–some of them still have a bone to pick. They seem stony; some of them will watch with a penetrative gaze and never strike to attack, but some of them will dive down to target anyone who gets too close. The monsters come in an array of sizes and shapes, but they are no more than half the size of their target. Their goal is uncertain, but they will crumble into a pile of rocks and dust if struck hard enough.
This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are at least two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character and cannot solo this with two of your own characters. This does not count as the ‘one youma battle’ per stage for growth. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt. "They're really always so..." the Knight started to say, expression set into an uncertain sort of frown. She wasn't mad at them, but she wouldn't say that gargoyles were generally the nicest things to see. As design pieces on certain types of buildings, maybe. They had some use, historically, didn't they? Protectors or guardian figures or something like that?
Ekstrom wrinkled her nose and straightened herself out, glancing around the rooftop and forcing down another shudder as she caught the backs of the three other gargoyles set on each corner of this building. They just didn't seem like they belonged on this building.
"Creepy," she finished, though something else caught her attention just as she finished saying the word. Her gaze snapped toward a curious signature that appeared not too far off from where she was. Chaos, she was certain of that much, though it felt different from corrupted senshi and agents somehow.

Perhaps he just hadn't noticed them before, but these gargoyles weren't always here, right? He had gone out tonight in an attempt to see if he could gather any energy, and to get out of the apartment for a while but instead had found all of these... strange statues that he could have sworn were not usually on buildings. Gargoyles? Were that what they were called? He couldn't help but move his face up close to one just to see if it was well, alive, before he managed to feel the aura of a Knight. Great. He could only hope that they could leave each other in peace, though it most likely meant he would have to go without gathering anything. He turned in the direction that he felt the aura coming from, when he suddenly heard something behind him, and when he turned around the "gargoyle" was gone! He couldn't help but land on his butt and yell out a curse at the sudden disappearance of this thing. Was it not a gargoyle and instead just a Youma?

The sudden curse sent her sprinting toward it, leaping across the gap between a few rooftops with the speed and relative ease that experience allowed before landing on what was probably the correct one. Rather than finding an agent with a victim, though, all she saw was a senshi laying on the ground.
"Uh," she started to say, though something slamming into her side cut her off before she could actually think of what to say next.
Pain shot through the whole of the right side of her body, but she grit her teeth and dug her feet in and stopped her skid just short of the nearest wall. Glancing in the direction she'd come, she spotted it.
A floating gargoyle. And it had its hard, unseeing eyes apparently trained on the senshi.

Bell scrambled back up to his feet and noticed that the Knight was right by him, but didn't appear to going after him at least. But they did have a common enemy as he now also spotted the very much alive gargoyle that was staring right at him. Great. Maybe his magic could do something against it? All he could do was breath fire. Maybe that would crack it a bit? The nights were starting to get colder so the rock would be colder right? And then with the heat... He didn't have much time to think about it as it decided to head straight for him and he only just jumped out of the way, but managed to hit his leg on one of the antennas on the building, causing it to fall over and make a sound. Not loud enough for anyone on the ground to notice, but it would definitely grab the attention of the gargoyle. And right after that, the gargoyle was once again trained on him and coming in for a second try!

Worry and relief passed over her in waves as she watched the gargoyle attack and just barely miss the senshi.
"It'll go down with enough magic or brute force!" she called, wincing as she tested her arm. She could already feel the bruise coming on, but at least she could move it which likely meant that it wasn't broken. Chaos signature or not, she wasn't interested in anyone getting hurt for no other reason than being a nearby target.
When it went for the senshi again, Ekstrom made a break for it. Running in a diagonal line and positioning her shield between her and the statue, she made a battering ram out of herself and slammed into the gargoyle in turn. It careened into the opposite wall, causing a loud gravely sound of cracking concrete and a subsequent dust cloud. With any luck it would buy them a few seconds...
"Ow," she said, wincing again as she glanced over at the senshi. "Magic?"

"Breathing fire." He quickly replied as he saw the Knight position herself in-between him and danger. He wished he could have been more helpful. "Not sure how much we can do with it against rock, but if you have an idea I'll follow it." He had no reason to go against what the Knight said. He was willing to work with Order unlike the Negaverse. He understood why they were on opposite sides, but in the end both of them just wanted to save humanity and the world. "You okay though?" She had a shield, but getting hit with pure rock would still be painful.

Fire against rock didn't seem like a great matchup, so she shook her head.
"Might be safer to just make a run for it," she said, considering the dust cloud and quietly hoping the thing would just stay down. She didn't notice any movement yet, which was a small relief, so she turned back to the senshi and offered him a little smile. It was always reassuring to cross paths with someone friendly on the other side. "Bruised, probably, but I'll be alright. You?"
Ekstrom flickered her eyes back to the dust cloud again, still not seeing any movement.
"And are you more up for a run or for a fight if that thing gets up again?"

Bellerophon hated to admit it, but the Knight was right. They didn't seem to stand a chance against the gargoyle and had already gotten hurt enough. He sighed before looking at Ekstrom. "You're right. We should just get away for now." He trusted the Knight enough that he did not believe she would attack him if they were to run. "I know of a mirror nearby. If you want to take that route." He could take her through at least. He would just have to be holding onto her the whole time. However, she seemed strong and might not want to be seen associating with a Dark Mirror. "If not then I at least have a quick escape route out of the area, so you shouldn't have to worry about me anymore. I promise I'll stop bothering that thing."

Having only had one previous experience walking through a mirror with a Mirror senshi, Ekstrom shook her head. From what she remembered (it was a long while back...) it wasn't the greatest of feelings, and at the time neither party had been under duress so she had a feeling it probably wasn't as bad as it ultimately could have been. It probably wouldn't be at all improved considering now they were using it as a means of escape rather than a leisurely walk through.
"I'll have to pass on the mirror walk," she said through a small, somewhat apologetic smile, "but I should be okay. I'll keep an eye out while you get out of here though."
The dust cloud had mostly settled now and there were still no signs of the thing getting up again. It wasn't enough to get her to relax entirely, but she did look a bit more at ease than just a few moments earlier.

Well, at least he had offered! He wasn't surprised she didn't take him up on it. It was either due to not fully trusting the Dark Mirror or the fact that mirrorwalking could be quite disorienting to someone who wasn't used to it. He nodded to her once again. "Thanks for the save! I guess I owe you one then!" He said, turning his back on the Knight and jumping off the roof in the direction that the mirror he wanted to travel through was. A disappointing night in one aspect, but it was nice to find an Order character who were at least okay with saving Dark Mirror Senshi. itspao_ ending post from me! thanks so much!
