Hobbies:
Piano -- Alis has been playing the piano since she began lessons in elementary school. Though it is not the primary focus of her life, she remains a skilled (though not on a professional level) pianist and is happy to play a song or two on her battered upright piano when asked.
Krav Maga -- Alis has been practicing Krav Maga since she was a teenager and while she's never been in an actual fight, she has drilled enough to be reasonably confident that she would be capable of defending herself long enough to either escape or incapacitate her attacker.
Herbalism -- Alis is a firm believer in medical science and refuses to compromise people's safety by recommending inadequate or dangerous natural options, but for lesser problems she has a whole host of researched plant based remedies to help alleviate symptoms and supplement the more rigorous measures. You won't find her promoting crystals or anything unsupported by empirical evidence, but if she has something that can safely make somebody feel a bit better she's happy to share it.
Virtues:
Passionate -- When Alis finds something that is important to her, a deep passion drives her to throw herself wholly into whatever that may be. While this pushes her to be the best at whatever she tries to do, it could also lead her to experience a degree of tunnel vision that blocks out other parts of her life or some of the less than ideal aspects of whatever her passions might be.
Her fondness for collecting compasses likely stems in part from this aspect of her personality in that they are a physical symbol of making sure you head in the right direction.
Authentic -- Alis does not care to present a false face to the world, preferring to remain true to herself and her beliefs. She places a high value on honesty and though she does her absolute best to be gentle and empathetic when telling people unpleasant truths, she considers it more unkind to let them live with the lie, preferring to rip off the proverbial band-aid.

Confrontational -- If someone is doing something that violates her personal ethics (or she perceives the situation as such), she will not hesitate to tell them regardless of who they are or how it might affect her situation. She can definitely come across as self-righteous during these interactions. Workaholic -- Alis is completely and utterly dedicated to her work, often to the detriment of other areas of her life.
