The Meteor Shower (3) : It wouldn't be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. This time of year is unnaturally clear and it's incredibly easy to see the stars. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be a whole rainbow of colors. The scientists have reported that it's just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there's something undeniably magical about it.

Calder was taking her patrol seriously, every night. Even on Star Festival Night. Here she was Calder, Page of Mercury - with a duty to protect. But she was going to allow her to watch the Meteor Shower, late tonight - Yes this one was always different.......... she wondering who else among her loved ones, were watching this beautiful big tonight.. Her brother and sister-in-law? Her nephew and nieces, and grandnephew, Etamin, Pastihee, Leaena, Darius Ammun, the others of her family? Adeelah?

Calder had hidden herself in the trees tonight, to watch... and near by, she sensed another Page? With a different, a new affiliation. "Hello?" She softly called, attempting to not alert the civilians below.

The odd colors flashing among those which he would have expected had admittedly instilled a bit of anxiety in Somniorum as he glanced up at the sky, so it was a relief to find such a ready answer when he looked online. Even if he felt more than a bit foolish that he’d gotten himself to the point where even natural phenomena had started to spook him.

It was unlike him really, letting superstitious impulses get the better of him before ensuring that there wasn’t a perfectly rational way to explain the sight. The page was grateful that no one could see directly into his head, it would be more than a little bit embarrassing if somebody else knew he’d scared himself like a medieval peasant reading portents of doom in the night sky. A slight smile flickered across his face, humans never really changed, he supposed. The sudden presence of another energy signature caught his attention.

Did they see?

Was it obvious how alarmed he’d been?

Hopefully not.

Even if they’d somehow missed it before, the jolt that moved through his body at the sound of an unfamiliar voice betrayed his jumpiness. Looking upward, he was surprised to see another page perched in a nearby tree. He squinted, eventually managing to identify the stranger’s insignia as belonging to Mercury. It still felt a bit…insane to know that a civilization somehow survived that close to the sun, but he’d found himself in the position of caretaker for a library on the moon so he needed to remind himself that he was well beyond the point of what he’d believed to be scientific fact.

“Er…hello!”

He offered the Mercury Knight a slightly self-conscious wave, wondering if attempting to join her in the tree would be the more polite thing to do.
