Quote: The Lilypads (16) : You can find them in lakes, ponds, reservoirs, and waterways throughout Destiny City. Giant lilypads--some large enough to support the weight of a person--appear overnight. You can try, if you want. It's become a local trend, and pictures are all over social media--of people looking for the largest lilypads, or the smallest ones they can stand on. You'd think the unnatural bubbling around the lilypads would be enough of a sign not to mess with them, but sometimes people need to learn the hard way. Beneath the lilypads lurk strange frog-like creatures that regard nearly everything as prey. The largest of them are roughly the size and shape of a bean bag chair, but they can be as small as a fist. Their broad heads are crowned with lilypads that serve as natural camouflage, allowing them to hide among the floating vegetation until they strike. They move with startling speed and can launch themselves impressive distances with powerful kicks. Long, whip-like tongues lash out to snatch prey, while thick mucus-like saliva can cling to skin, clothing, and even immobilize unfortunate victims. Their skin carries a toxic coating that can cause irritation on contact. The creatures announce themselves with a deep croak that sounds uncannily like a large bell being rung just by your ears. Unfortunately, for anyone that was respecting nature, these strange creatures are aggressive and will also attack without provocation, often attempting to drive even innocent bystanders away from the water's edge. However, if sufficiently threatened, they may retreat into the water. Once submerged, they become impossible to track. Note: If you choose to encounter one of these frog-like creatures, your character will recognize they are not youma. It is impossible to tell if it is a single entity or if there are many. The creature does not seem to understand or care to listen to human words. All toxic and mucus can be washed away, but effects may persist for a few hours after this encounter. The creature cannot be killed and will always evade lethal blows. While it is rare to find multiple large creatures in the same vicinity, smaller creatures often cluster together, or may be found with a larger one. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character. This does not count as the one youma battle per stage for growth. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt. For once, Winters was having fun. It was like the waterparks she used to go to at the Jersey Shore with the lilypads in the water that you had to balance on. Only these were real lilypads and they were huge...and she wanted to balance on them.
There was a whole mess of them in this pond, and her grin was almost painful as she walked around and around it, trying to see if she would be able to get all the way across, or if she would end up falling in…because falling in was what she did not want to do…
There were funny bubbles around the lilypads but she paid them no mind, and when she felt another aura spring up, and it wasn’t one that filled her with dread, her head snapped up.
Maybe they could race. Or make it an obstacle course. Or just…call it rough terrain training.
When she saw the pink haired purple clad girl she waved. “Hey! Main Character energy, come over here, yeah?”

A Knight. That's what her brother had called what she was. What they were. Magical transformations were for fantasy books, for anime and movies. They didn't happen in real life. And yet, there Aria was. Or rather, Daphni. The name felt so strange and yet so familiar all at once. It had been so much to wrap her mind around, to try and comprehend all at once, that she still found herself texting her brother in the middle of the night with random questions that might pop into her mind. And thankfully for her, Angel was a real champ about it. He answered what he could, and whatever he didn't know, he would find out from others that did.
Sighing softly, Daphni twirled her pendant around her finger as she walked, heels clicking on the ground. The outfit looked good on her, she had to admit. She felt mature and pretty and somehow fierce. Well. Unless she came face to face with another one of those kentucky fried bullshit chicken things. Then she might feel less fierce. But for now, she was certainly feeling confident as she wandered.
Walking by a pond, she paused as a crop of massive lily pads caught her eye. As she looked, she noticed someone hopping from leaf to leaf, and smiled at how endearing that looked. As the person took note of her, Daphni arched a brow. Main character energy? Yeah, she would take that.
Laughing a little, Daphni slipped her pendant over her head and tucked it beneath the top of her outfit against her chest before making her way over. "These things are huge. I've never seen ones like this before. They seem pretty stable under you?" She asked both for wanting to hop on one herself, but also because she wanted to know if she might need to take an impromptu swim, should the girl fall in due to one collapsing.

“I haven’t tried one out yet but. I’ve really been thinking about it. I was hoping we could race? Try it together? You have like, super jumps too, yeah? Synchronized lilypad hopping?” Wiggling her brows, Winters grinned. “I’m Winters. Senshi of Tradition. You feel like my cousins do and like a few others I’ve met so I’m assuming it’s absolutely totally safe to befriend you.”
Plus, she was around her own age, not old, which was good.
“What do you say? Up for some leapfrog?”

Senshi. Right. Angel and Florian told her what those were as well. "Daphni, Page of Ida. Pleasure to meet you." She smiled brightly. The girl, Winters, was decidedly young, though close to her own age possibly.
Tilting her head curiously, Daphni peered at her. "You've got family in this too? Is this magic stuff genetic?" Maybe she should ask her brother later about that, she thought. Right now, the invitation to be a magical child was calling to her pretty strongly.
Grinning at the senshi, Daphni leapt onto the nearest lily pad. Her arms pinwheeled briefly as she caught her balance, but she seemed relatively stable on it. It didn't seem to bob like she had thought it would, but she paid it no mind. "These things are seriously neat. My brother is an artist and I bet he would love to paint these." She would definitely be telling him about these later. She could only imagine how pretty a painting of Schwetzingen would be on one of these, too.
"Let me get my footing first and then hell yes!"

“Hey! Don’t leave me behind!” Winters laughed and finally made the leap onto one of the lilypads, inwardly wishing that she had the rope above her like there were in the water parks, it would make balance much easier but…huh. It didn’t move nearly as bad as the ones she was thinking about.
“Yeah, it might be? They’re both like you. Uh. Pages or whatever. I’m the one with the magic. So obviously I’m the better one…I’m the cutest too. My one cousin looks like such a dork with his flower crown. The other one has like. Antlers. Not attractive in my mind. But like, they’re my cousins so that’s a good thing. I’m absolutely not from Alabama so don’t go thinking that. Dang. How do you suppose these are held up? I was thinking they’d be like the ones I played on as a kid and we’d have to practically surf to get balanced but these feel like they’re supported really well.”

Daphni listened to the younger girl ramble a bit, smiling. It was endearing and made her want to ruffle the girl's hair. She admittedly laughed out loud at the southern comment and shook her head. "No, no, I get it. I think my brother is cute but like. In the way a puppy is cute. A very useless, pathetic puppy who I need to clean up after. A lot. Honestly he's a total mess." She shook her head with amusement as she thought about the wreck that her brother's apartment was. "Besides, like I've heard it said, you can find a pair of shoes attractive. Doesn't mean you wanna date them. Right?"
Jumping to the next pad, she frowned as it definitely felt solid beneath her. Solid, yet there were bubbles coming from under it? "....Winters, I have a bad feeling about this.." Famous last words like that were famous for a reason, she supposed.

“That’s true. Though, I haven’t met anyone around here that I’d want to date. There was this guy back home though. He was cute. Well. I guess this is home now. We moved here earlier in the year, I go to Meadowview now it’s cool but. Meh. Nobody of interest yet.”
She paused and looked over at Daphni, then down at the lilypad she was standing on. “What do you mean? It hasn’t collapsed yet or anything. Are you okay?” There was a great, loud croaking sound and she looked down to see two bulbous yellow eyes staring up at her.
And Winters screamed and leapt to the lilypad that Daphni was on, grabbing the other girl. “What the ******** class="quote">Lena Roze

Daphni's eyes lit up again. "That's where I go too. I'm a senior, what about you?" Her delight was cut short as an almost bell sounding croak met her ears. Reaching her arm out, she wrapped it around the younger girl and pulled her closer as she stared in horror at two massive eyes peering at them.
"Oh hell...." She held Winters a bit tighter. "Please for the love of everything good tell me that you have some magic that can do damage?" Her free hand moved to rest where her pendant sat beneath her top, knowing it was absolutely useless. Who even decided to give her that for a magical item anyway? Of all the times she wished she would have had her brother with her, now might have been the biggest.

“Um…no…not really. It made my one cousin cry and get angry but didn’t do anything to this other lady I met the other night. So I really don’t know what the purpose of it is maybe I can try it on you sometime that isn’t now?”
The croaking came again and Winters winced. “Let’s get off of the pond? Let’s get off of the pond!” She took hold of Daphni’s arm and began to run, taking a leap off of the lilypad they were standing on. Something long. Wet and stickty jutted out of the water and grabbed her by the stocking. “Oh my god it’s its tongue ew, EW!”
She stumbled and nearly fell into the pond but managed to twist away, falling on the ground with Daphni on top of her. “Do you have salt? Will they die from salt? Or is that slugs?”

{b]"Off the pond sounds good to me!!!"
Quickly rolling to the side to get off of her, Daphni watched the water carefully, only to find she was being watched back. Seeing the tongue wrapped around the girl's leg, she kicked at it with the heel of her boot to try and help free her, only to end up with some of the mucous on her leg. "Oh my god that is disgusting." She shuddered and was thankful when the nasty creature released Winters.
"Slugs. That's slugs. Though frogs get hydration and oxygen through the mucous membrane in their skin, if i remember right, so i bet salt wouldn't be pleasant for them either." She rattled off the random knowledge as she kept her eyes on the giant ones staring back at her. "It's like it's just waiting for me to move. I mean, it isn't as gross as the freaking murder chicken from the other night, but still very, very much no thank you."

Well…her magic made some ice so maybe it would make the frog…cold. Sleep? “Do frogs hibernate?” Was that a thing? There was something about some creatures falling from trees when it got too cold? Iguanas were kind of like frogs right? Ugly…creepy crawly?”
She blew outwards, muttering “It’s Tradition.” And watched as the sparkles made it to the frog and the small bit of ice seemed to overtake it.
Another loud, thrumming croak as the frog blinked slowly.
Was it seeing something? Remembering something? She didn’t know. Didn’t really want to know. “We should run? I want to run. While it’s distracted?”
Lena Roze Winters blows outwards and a flurry of what looks like silver sparkles heads towards an opponent. At their feet, a small one foot in diameter patch of 'ice' appears. In the ice, visible only to the one who is affected by the magic will play memories of some sort of past tradition, good or bad. The memory will last for twenty seconds, and during which, the affected may feel some tingling in their extremities, as though they had been watching for a long time, longing for the memories, and their limbs have fallen asleep. Her magic can go no further than 10 feet and can be used twice.

"They're amphibians so maybe? I don't really know." She knew a lot of random facts about a lot of random things, but nothing was specifically useful at that moment.
Nodding enthusiastically, Daphni scrambled to her feet and held her hand to help the senshi up, keeping a tight hold on her just in case. "Let's get the hell out of here. If we need to, we can go find my brother and he can.... I don't know. I don't even know right now." She was absolutely not in a position to think of anything thoroughly at the moment. All she knew is that she wanted out of there just as badly as Winters.

“Yeah…yeah okay that sounds good. Lead the way! Uh. Yeah!”
She shuddered and powered down after a moment, unwilling to feel the slime on her leg any longer. It was itching and kind of burning and she just…
No.
“Lead the way.”
