Room 5: The Giftshop - A large room that looks as much like an exhibit of miscellaneous treasures as it does a well-organized giftshop. There are no prices, and while there doesn't seem to be any true organization system, the room doesn't appear the least bit cluttered. Shelves climb toward the ceiling, each crowded with objects ranging from beautiful to baffling. There is no shortage of curiosities--trinkets, jewelry, instruments, tools, books, stones, toys--just about anything can be found here in some form. Nothing here was meant to stay for long, and visitors who came early in the evening might find a very different stock by the end of the evening. At the front of the room, and within perfect sight of both the door and every aisle, Almadel stands watch behind a gorgeous desk. The room is well lit and has a large window along the back wall, allowing an extensive view of deep space. Unlike the other exhibits, there doesn't seem to be a ban on snacks, as Almadel has a bowl of strange candy, and a tray of individually wrapped pastries that look oddly similar to Cosmic Brownies.
Carmeltzite had forced herself to save the gift shop for last. She absolutely ******** adored gift shops! The kitschier the better! As she paused and looked around with lively interest, the lieutenant saw that this shop was set up a little differently. More organized. Almost an exhibit itself. Fascinating. As she peeked and poked through the shelves, she wondered what all these things were and what they might mean.
Now, the good and responsible thing to do would be to loot the place and take whatever she could grab down to lay at her superiors' feet in an offering. But why risk annoying the hot alien that ran this place? Besides, she'd never stolen before and she wasn't about to do it now! Besides, if she did something that ******** stupid, she'd deserve being shot out into space to die horribly. Nah, she'd behave. BUT, she would have one of those brownies!
Seizing up one of the wrapped goodies, she carefully opened it and nibbled at the brownie. She doubted that these would be 'special', but you never knew! Maybe Almadel was a hip dude. Laughing a little at the thought, she resumed checking out the goods.
