"What? Oh," Mason said, because he had not grabbed food, because he'd been very focused on finding her (and also harassing Jason). "Uh, yeah, two secs, if you don't mind hangin' out a minute." Mason darted back to the food area and returned with a pizza of his own, along with a small salad that mostly seemed to be lettuce and croutons and entirely too much ranch dressing. There was also a bowl of vanilla soft-serve with, just, like, a
stupid amount of sprinkles on top.
Because he was an adult, dang it.
"Okay so," he said, after taking a couple bites of the pizza and finding it...acceptable, if not the most delicious pie he'd ever had. "This project Jason and I are working on. It's sort of like a community project," he began, though he was already beginning to wonder if he shouldn't have selected someplace a little more private to speak after all.
"Sort of...to help newer people out. Get adjusted to...the lifestyle," he said, tapping his disguised ring subtly, just once. "And also, organize like, a real system for patrols and things like that, so nobody goes out alone and accidentally runs into--well, you know the sort of things, people that you can run into, right?" Mason smiled wryly. "So we're looking for new people, obviously, but we also need some people with more - experience - to actually
help those new people. Does that--do you get what I mean?"
