Behind the large cathedral a vast field lay. The weeds grow wild and the trees stand gnarled, blanketing what could be described as the yard, in a darkness. A small pond is overgrown with reeds, leaving it well hidden, where frogs and lizards live with birds that nest when the seasons is right.

Perhaps with a little help this dark landscape can become a breathtaking sanctuary for both Guardian and Reliquiant.

Lancelot was playing happily in the overgrown grass and weeds, leaving Bliss to watch from the steps. This was where they were supposed to be staying now? She didn't understand. Why would anyone choose to live here? Weren't there better places?

Resting her chin on her hand she watched her pet race along happily chasing crickets and grasshoppers. She would never understand these people. Just as they would never understand her. Why did she have to be so alone? Sighing she suppressed the urge to cry in despair at the lonliness that was clinging to her.

Perhaps she should try to change for everyone else. She didn't believe she should have to, but she didn't know how much longer she could take being like this. Alone. Away from others. Usually it was okay. But the monotony of life was becoming too much. Even Hoshiko's nonstop talk about shopping had to be better than the drudges of wandering the dirt filled prison she found herself in day after day.....even watching Raife make an utter buffoon out of himself would be better.....

Oh...it was perfect! Meridian knew as soon as she set foot out the door into the wild tangle that she would be spending a lot of time out here. To many, this place would seem dark and sinister but to the little Tiger's Eye, it was full of intrigue and promise. Here, finally, was a place she could practice her violin without being inturrupted. But as she made her way through the rusty gate she thought she heard a sigh full of longing and emptiness. Frowning, the golden girl picked her way through the bramble and blinked. It was Bliss... she'd only met the other girl once but she hadn't seemed so... lost ... at the time. Meridian's brow furrowed and she took a step closer to the other girl, wondering if Bliss even remembered her.

"....whats wrong?" she asked, her voice tinged with worry.

"Oh!" Bliss jolted up from her spot. She hadn't realized anyone would bother coming outside. Turning to face the other girl, it took her a moment to place her face. Meridian. That was her. Tiger's Eye. Vaguely she remembered, past and future of the face.

"I'm okay, nothing is wrong. Just....trying to keep from getting lost here. This place is rather large, isn't it?" Noticing the small violin, Bliss gave her a curious look. "You play?"

She sounded like a dolt. But struggling to make conversation that didn't have to do with her feelings was a lot better than opening up to someone who was likely to not understand.

Meridian frowned again, perplexed. She knew that Bliss wasn't being honest. Somehow, she always seemed to know when people weren't telling her the truth. But she didn't seem to want to discuss it and Meridian, despite her naturally open and talkative personality, tried to understand what could be so horrible that a person couldn't unburden themselves. Still young and therefore naiieve, her imagination had a tendency to occasionally (well, more often than that) blow things out of proportion. Her mind snapped back from it's overzealous wonderings when Bliss spoke.

"oh..." the younger girl's face colored slightly. "Yes... I play. And yes, this place is easy to get lost in." The faint blush dissapeared into a flush of excitement "But look at it out here!" Wide golden eyes surveyed the courtyard that to most would seem oppressive and ugly but to such a child presented only the most promising of adventures. "It's so... wild. Look out there... it's just waiting for someone to discover it." There was no question in the tone of voice that Meridian was convinced she was meant to do exactly that.

Bliss listened halfheartedly. How come she didn't feel enthusiastic like this girl? Biting back a sigh, she watched as Meridian stared out at the field, seeing instead of an overrun mess, an adventure filled with possibilities. "I suppose that is one way to look at it." she said lightly under her beath.

"So you enjoy classical music? Or just playing it?" She asked, hoping to find a conversation point that would be easier to talk about. Music, at least classical music, seemed a lot easier to talk about and might steer her away from her usual lectures on responsibility and views on other things...

Meridian smiled almost bashfully. "I dont mind listening to it, but I'd much rather have other people listen to me play it. I'm going to be famous someday, you know. Everyone will know who I am." The younger girl paused, looking at Bliss and biting her lip. She could tell there was something wrong and, being the sometimes irritatingly open person that she was, tact was not her strongest area. "You don't like it here, do you?" Her tone was neither sympathetic or judgemental, merely the innocent curiosity of youth.

Sakura hovered just aboved the ground as she explored this new area. She had left her brother somewhere back at home and had gone out on her own. She wanted a moment to herself and thought that this new place would just be right.

Moving through the overgrown brush, she climbed into the trees and looked up and around her. A small robin had landed near her and she smiled. It was always a good sign to her and she hoped something good would come up.

There was a moment of silence as Bliss considered her answer. It wasn't an easy answer to give, but she figured it was best to be nuetral in this case. "I'm just not used to this place yet."

Simple, honest, though not covering everything. Maybe there wasn't a place she could enjoy. She plastered a smile onto her face as she returned to the topic of the violin. "I would certainly enjoy listening to you play. I was never interested in playing myself, preferring to listen and dance instead. Perhaps sometime you could play for me."

The older girl was still holding back, but Meridian bit her tongue rather than press the issue. Instead, she lifted her violin, pressing her chin against the cool wood, and raised her bow. "I will play for you" she said simply. And then she lay bow to strings.
She was better than she let on, the violin emitting a longing, wistful tune that somehow seemed to be instilled with the promise of future joy and realized dreams. The little girl's eyes closed and she allowed herself to be carried away by her own music, forgetting that she had an audience.

There was a genuine smile on Bliss' lips as she listened to the younger girl play. She was talented for one so young. Listening she both appreciated and envied the talent. It made her want to loose herself in movement.

As the song played on, Bliss closed her eyes and imagined being elsewhere, letting herself dance in the confines of her own mind.
