((An OOC note: This takes place before the previous journal entry, but I wanted to get that down. xD. And now I've simply -got- to write this story. I hope you don't mind.))
Shiaree sat with the feather held gently between two fingers. She had managed to convince the various denizens of her house to leave the room, and had been concentrating simply on the feather for around an hour now.
It was a beautiful feather indeed. She didn't know how they had been able to know it was male, but he was a gorgeous male...or would be, if and when he decided to leave the feather. Brushing her fingers gently along the softness of it, she played with the idea that he really was gorgeous already, even in feather form.
But her thoughts were going in circles. Perhaps because she was running out of ideas. How was she to get the little guy out? She had already been nurturing it..him.. for the past couple of days. She'd been quite careful to make sure she treated the feather almost as if it -were- the Fenthry already-- talking to him, offering him food or drink and imagining he refused, carefully tucking it into her pocket as though tucking him into bed.
And wheedling, convincing, encouraging him to come out of his shell.
As she sat there, speaking softly to him once more, the feather seemed to pull out of her hands, floating gently up into the air. There was a bright light, and suddenly there he was. All soft brown fur and blue wings and hair. Absolutely adorable, and looking terrified. Without hesitation, he scrambled for Shiaree's lap, and the elf cuddled him reassuringly,
"There now..it's okay..I'm glad you decided to come out, sweet one," she whispered gently, soothingly.
The little guy still shuddered nervously, and she sighed. This was going to take some time.
